After years of successfully working together as separate companies, Encompass was formed in August 1999 through the merger of Dowling Textile Manufacturing Company, The Pillow Factory, and TECHStyles, Inc. and the concurrent purchase of the Hospitex Division from Allegiance Healthcare Corporation.
Lintex Corporation joined Encompass in January 2001, enhancing our abilities to provide products and services to even more customers throughout healthcare, especially long term care facilities. Lintex and Hospitex were combined into one integrated division in January 2002.
In June 2002, Encompass entered into an agreement with MIP, Inc., a Montreal based manufacturer of reusable incontinent and related products to work together in both the US and Canadian markets further strengthening our product offering and expanding the availability of our products to customers in both markets.
In September 2002, Encompass purchased an interest in AlbaHealth, Inc. and combined the sales and marketing resources of AlbaHealth, Avcor, and TECHstyles division into a new division of Encompass called Encompass Medical.
In January of 2003, Encompass purchased the US and Canadian operations of BG Industries, Northridge, CA and organized them into a new division called Encompass Therapeutic Support Systems.
In July of 2003, the Hospitex/Lintex division became the Textiles and Interiors division of Encompass. The new name better reflects the products and services the division offers the marketplace, and helps to strengthen the Encompass name further.
